Transformation and BEE certification
MRMS is committed to the principles of employment equity as well as to achieving a productive and fair working environment, free of discrimination. MRMS recognises the need to implement measures to counteract the under-representation of certain designated groups in the workplace through recruitment, training and promotion of HDSAs (Historically Disadvantaged South Africans).
We are a significant employer in the Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces. In certain areas MRMS’s operations are located in regions where few economic activities take place. MRMS provides transport from where they live to the company’s operational sites.
MRMS ensures compliance with South African labour and other legislation which includes the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Employment Equity Act and the Occupation Health and Safety Act. In support of these targets and current legislation, MRMS places special emphasis on recruiting, training and promoting employees from local communities, particularly HDSAs and women, taking into account the available skills pool in that particular area. Several training initiatives have been identified, which aim to identify, train and develop HDSAs to fulfil these leadership and management positions in the future.
MRMS BEE shareholding is constant with the majority shares of MRMS being owned by Mr. C Ntshangase. MRMS formulated a medium-term plan to improve the rating from a Level 3 to a Level 2 contributor.
